About Keith

A professional fisherman doesn’t get lucky. The purpose of fishing is to catch fish. A professional fisherman uses the right techniques, with the right equipment, for the right fish, in the right place, at the right time. Nothing is accidental, nothing is by chance. When we venture out upon the water it is with a single purpose and that is we are intent upon catching fish.

There is a world of difference between casual fishing and fishing with a professional. The casual fisherman and the professional will both have an enjoyable day on a boat in a beautiful natural setting. At the end of the day, though, the professional will catch more fish. A lot more fish. That is what we are all about; helping you to have a memorable day of fishing.

Successful fishing requires discipline, knowledge, and experience. I maintain charts of data on wind direction, barometric pressure, cloud cover, water temperature, what the fish are eating, and where they are found. (Anybody who calls themselves a professional should.) I know about inlets, cuts, weed beds, rock points, streams, sand flats, and other places the different species are located. I maintain tournament grade equipment that is well organized and labeled so it is always readily accessible and working when it is needed. In addition to maintaining scientific data and having great equipment, I have learned to master a variety of skills and techniques. Let me tell you about jigging, top-water, drop-shot, spinners, frogs on a lily pad, crank bait, pig and jig, or a number of other different techniques needed to land the trophy fish.

I know how to fish. I fish for a living. My livelihood depends upon it. All this to say, if you want to fish with someone who knows his stuff, I’m the guy.

If you are going to spend a day with me on a boat, you should know what you are getting into. I am a genuine, lifetime resident of Vermont with years of experience fishing in New England. I have always had a passion for the outdoors and a love for angling. I’ve been fishing since I was able to hold a pole. I am a licensed guide and professional fisherman.  I guess you could say that fishing is my life.

I began competing in tournaments on Lake Champlain at the age of 16 and haven’t stopped since. I placed 4th in the Northern Pike section and 3rd place for teams in the 2013 LCI fishing tournament on Lake Champlain. The LCI is a very well-known and well-attended fishing tournament, with fisherman traveling from all over New England to participate.

As much as I care about angling, I care about people. I truly want you to have a gratifying experience filled with great fishing and good fellowship. Many of my clients I now consider my friends. We get together on a yearly basis to pull in those big ones. They are on vacation in Vermont and slip out for a day or two of fishing with me on the lake.

Fishing and the environment are important to me and the reasons why I practice responsible "catch and release." Care is taken when pursuing and catching fish so they can be released unharmed to fight another day.
